Wild Thyme - Wild Mignonette - Reseda Lutea
French for little darling, Wild Mignonette is a clump-forming native biennial or short lived perennial with conical spikes of small, unscented, green-yellow flowers.
The leaves are a pale yellow green, pinnate and with a wavy edge and turn a stunning and unusual apricot-orange later in the year.
Flowers from June onwards.
Requires: Sun/light soil
Height: 15-30 cm
Its roots have been used to make a yellow dye called “weld” since the first millennium BC.
Wild Mignonette is the only food source of the rare 'Bath White' Butterfly.
Fully hardy British native wildflower.
